Patience

Patience. Something that we can probably can afford to have more of. As I said many times, people are living faster and faster lives because of the technology. I admit, I tweet when fast food takes more than five minutes. If you think about it, a Big Mac, fries, nuggets in less than two minutes is pretty good; there is a McDonald's nearby that promises your order will be done in like 2 minutes or less during lunch time.
Patience is certainly a virtue; a virtue that the younger generation is completely squandering. I consider myself remarkably patient especially when compared to those around me. But that serene and tranquil nature in me was tested this past weekend (and yesterday) when screen printing the blog shirts. While the back logo screen turned out perfectly, the front two thumbs up unfortunately did not. First, the transparency was ruined and I didn't have another; let me tell you, it's nearly impossible to buy inkjet transparencies in stores. I looked all over town with my doppelgänger with no luck in sight until I realized the next day that I could just have it printed at Office Depot...
After obtaining the transparency, I made the silk screen. Turns out, it took four times to get through all the shirts. My patience was definitely put to its limit since the process of making the screen is arduous (Apply emulsion, let it dry for a few hours, expose the screen, let it dry some more, then printing can commence. Wow, that's sounds so effortless when I put it that way.) After printing the ink on the shirts, even more drying occurs. The fun part comes last, heat setting the shirts; it takes about 20 minutes per shirt...
Wow, time to iron the rest of the shirts tonight...
P.S. I guess custom shirts cost so much because people rather pay more to avoid the strenuous process of screen printing.
