Polling Phone Calls

The past few months I have gotten multiple phone calls from polling centers. Usually, there are about elections and candidates. Most of the time, I give my time to answer surveys as I like to think I would be part of something bigger than myself (think a statistic used in a West Wing scene).

Today, it was a call about charter schools. And to be honest, I was happy to express my views on charter schools. But I was 15  minutes into the survey and my dinner was waiting to be eaten. So I did what any reasonable hungry person would do and politely asked if we could resume another time. But I thought to myself, how many people are they expecting to get full responses from with such a long and tedious survey on a topic which has not been discussed one bit in the primary discussions.
