POTUS

POTUS may be the worst acronym ever. What makes it worse is that it's an acronym of one of the most influential person in the world. I'm sure someone from the Department of Defense made it up based on how many are used in the Defense industry. As someone who seems to have only been enjoying shows that are over recently and has immense inspiration to become the President, it seems only natural to enjoy West Wing, the show.
With Amazon Prime, I can watch the entire series for $Free.99 very conveniently on my Xbox (It only takes 15 mins to warm it up to work!). As with Seinfeld and Cheers, I didn't have any interest and didn't fancy West Wing at all. But with the advancement of technology, these timeless television shows can be enjoyed by future generations. Aaron Sorkin's distinct style for television creates an West Wing environment which one can truly immerse oneself in. With the President being so public, it's odd how little the general public knows how the White House works. And I hope the show is realistic because it is the only prospective I have on the White House.
Even though the show ran from 1999-2006, the show remains to be relevant. Even though I am only mostly through the first season, the show has already brought up some controversial topics that are still being debated today, including insider trading by government officials, homosexuals in the military, and how the Constitution should be adapted for present times. With hectic times to be found all the time and crazy amount of foot traffic, it's somewhere I definitely want to be and have significant impact to America. So, Matthew TW Huang for President in 2024! (This campaign may or may not have started in my senior year in high school)
