Premature Excitement

I'm sure everyone reading this has experienced the awful feeling of getting prematurely excited. It's never a good thing and at the end; as a result, no one is happy. One example that comes to mind... long drives. You mentally prepare for the drive, adenine runs through your body but it's hours before you even start driving and you need to get your sleep. The morning arrives, you didn't much sleep and you're tired with no more adenine; premature excitement strikes again!
Other instances of premature excitement include sporting events, food meals, workouts, and ironically even when getting ready to go to bed.
I think the consumer industry has become consistently prematurely excited for holidays. Just the other day, my local supermarket started displays for Halloween, which is almost two whole months away...

I fully understand Halloween is a huge moneymaker for the industry but THIS early? I'm going to tired of the color orange, especially with the unnaturally colored candy, by the start of October. And by the time the last week of October comes, I won't even notice it's the week of Halloween since it's been there for so long. With the consumer industry "celebrating" holidays earlier every year, I have become extremely unsatisfied. Premature Excitement strikes again!
Do you have any stories of premature excitement that has affected you?
