Relationship: Phone and Computer

As phones become more powerful, integration of all of our technologies become more in sync. Currently, the integration isn't very seamless at all. It seemed like it all started with people using their Gmail account as a small hard drive on the Internet with Gdrive. Then, Dropbox became popular. Especially their invitation program, making it beneficial to the users to invite their friends. Such a great idea for their service. Then, other services joined the party, like Microsoft with their Skydrive. With these, it seems that file sharing through the Internet seem very easy. While it is already simple, I think it can be more user-friendly. For example, files on phones should natively sync files with computers. While there are Android apps like AirDroid, the Android OS doesn't itself have those features without using third party applications.
Third Party Applications like AirDroid and Phonedeck do more than just file syncing though. They also allow syncing/managing of SMS messages, call logs, and more. Phonedeck allows the user to send/receive text messages on your computer if you are away from your phone. You can also manage contacts and make calls. And you can even send a ring alert from your computer in order to find where your phone is. While the last one isn't that important, the others should be synced between all of our devices easily. Phonedeck is very unstable since it is a very early product right now.
It is surprising that Google hasn't implementing integration between Android and Gmail. I don't see it being it very difficult since they have done much of the calling and SMS details with Google Voice. It would be great that Google Voice can not only use the Google Voice number but also with the number associated with the Android phone. Then, allow the user to send texts and make calls from their computer using the cell phone number similar to what they have now with Google Voice. There are so many times where I am on my computer where I wished I had this capability.
This is just the integration between phone and computer. There are so many more products that can be integrated with those devices as they become more powerful. I will hopefully express my ideas the near future on this blog.
