Relax

We have become a world that truly never stops; the world has never moved this fast in terms of communication and development. With this, the way we perceive a successful life has changed. With young entrepreneurs (like Mark Zuckerberg, Adam Goldstein, David Karp), young athletes (some that start their professional careers at 18), and young artists, we define being successful very differently from before. The expectations seems to be heavier than years before; maybe it's just because I'm getting older. Or it could be that success has become more about money than anything else today. But once and a while, you hear a feel-good story about a person who has done good for their community without benefitting it financially.
With the ever changing world that we are a part of, it's seemingly arduous and sometimes impossible to take a break from it all. People fill their lives with something to do every second of each day. Sometimes, we even have to plan our "breaks" because if we don't, they may never happen. People anticipate a few weeks of vacationing so they can take a "break" just do as much as time allows. I fall into these habits too. When I just lay in my bed just thinking about the past and future, I venture back to thoughts about what else I could be doing at that moment like developing my programming skills, learning a new language, or even be running outside in the 35 degree weather. With things changing around us all the time, we feel that we must be stimulated at all times; it could be going to the gym, watch life-sequences with the dull moments cutout in tv shows/movies/Youtube videos, or going to work. Have we lost the ability to relax and actually enjoy it without the thought of it being a misuse of valuable time? Do people love sleep more today because it's the only time they can truly relax from all the chaos the world has to offer?
