Reminder: Shopping Tips
With the holiday shopping season upon us (too early in my opinion), I thought it would be good to remind my readers of some tips.
First of all, spend only what you have. Don't go beyond your means. Try to remember the basic rules of personal finance.
Take advantage of your credit card benefits. This can often include extended warranties (great for electronics), protect protection, and price guarantee (a way to get Black Friday/sale items without waiting in line). Also, take advantage of getting credit card rewards (especially the 5% quarterly cards like Discover and Freedom). And if you have an iPhone with Apple Pay and a Discover card, don't forget to take advantage of the amazing deal that lasts till the end of the year.
Certain credit cards offer discounts at certain retailers as well. Discover and AMEX offer some of the more useful discounts.
Buy discounted gift cards at places you know you will be spending money at.
If you know what you want to buy, search SlickDeals. It can also be a good method of trying to figure out what to get someone you have no clue what to get them by just browsing the deals.
Hope that helps. Let me know if you know of any other tips that may help holiday shoppers.
Reminder: Be thoughtful!
