Restaurant Technology
Technology has officially invade Olive Garden. When I went to there for dinner, I saw:

It's a touch device that allows you to order drinks and appetizers before your waiter/waitress shows up. You can even play games for the low price of $1.99...
While ordering food and drinks is convenient, the best feature of this device is being able to pay for your entire meal. No more waiting for your server to bring the check then waiting for server to pick up your credit card/cash. Then, you have to wait for the server to bring the paid check back. This device eliminates all that time and effort.
It even shows tip percentages too.

Then, it gives you the option to do a quick survey. I never seem to have a problem doing the survey since it's so simple.

This device definitely improves the experience of casual dining. Though it's quite bulky and won't be appropriate in many restaurants. Could this eventually replace waitresses/waiters? Possibly. Then, only servers would only have to bring out food and drinks (and maybe service customers upon request).
