Devour Indy

Today we took a trip down to Indianapolis for Devour Indy, which is the equivalent to Restaurant Week for most other places. For those who don't know what that is, it's when restaurants have a fixed menu for a certain price. It's a great opportunity to try out new places that you wouldn't go to regularly whether it's because of the price or being unaware of it. I know most cities have them including Boston and Providence (which I think did it recently).
While going to expensive nice restaurants may seem like a great deal, it's usually a smaller portion. Like today, we went to St. Elmo's and the main entrée was filet mignon but it was only 6 oz. It was as delicious as expected but not anything very special. But the shrimp cocktail was different than I have had before, spicy like wasabi. It was quite the time with friends. And it's nice to go to a nice restaurant once and a while, getting served on every little demand.
It's a great excuse to meet up with friends you haven't seen in a while and enjoy quality food (hopefully) because everyone has to eat something.
