Retired Eyes
Last week, I had my annual eye exam.

As always, the assistant was surprised that I couldn't read the numbers in the colorblind circles. Embarrassing tears were had during the puff test. But there has been an improvement in the experience! The assistant has learned to take images of my retina in one take (on each eye)! Tip: She took the picture immediately after blinking and then the green flashing light blinded me.
Results: My eye prescription did not change one bit.
It was a sad eye exam as my optometrist is retiring early due to a family inheritance. Dr. Pierce has been great for the past 4 years. While it's great news for him, I'm somber that I have to go to another optometrist next year. Though, he was particularly happy during this year's exam and even told some mature jokes. I grew up with some terrible optometrists (didn't care for their patients very much), so Dr. Pierce was a pleasant change.
The doctor described his retirement plans and it sounded very relaxing life in Indiana. He couldn't stop talking about his retirement and I sort of understood. I've heard so many retirement plans and I can't even start to envision what I will do in retirement. I don't even know if I'll truly completely retire.
