Road after Sudoku
One of the things I have been doing when I can't think of anything else the past few years is Sudoku. It's great, the challenges it creates for my brain. The "hard" Sudokus on the New York Times just don't challenge me anymore. I have resorted to a daily Sudoku application on my Mac. The "Nightmare" difficult has been tricking me lately and I have to use the "pencil" function, which is just a hassle to turn on and off. As a result, I've been trying to avoid using the function, which makes it a little more difficult (It's not because I'm lazy).
On to the main topic of the day: The ways of the road here, in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Well, the most obnoxious thing ever here are left hand turns. There are instances where you can be the first at the left turn lane and be stranded at that space for literally two minutes. Yes, you can finish an entire song while waiting at a light! (If you're new to town, you may have thought the light was broken on the first day of work and drove to the next left, only to wait another 2 minutes (Not saying I did that on anything))
The length of waiting isn't the only problem though. Once you finally get the long awaited green arrow, you better hurry because it will be short lived. This happens no matter how many cars are waiting in the turning lanes. Yes, the short green light will only allow three cars turn in each lane legally. This is the origins of "Fort Wayne-ing" has rose from. Six cars will turn left from each lane, magically. This "Fort Wayne-ing" has gone far beyond "Running a Red". This habit has transferred to non-turning lanes too. These roads of Fort Wayne are not safe. I've seen more T-Bone accidents here than the rest of my life. I don't know who does the rating for worst drivers in this country, but as far as I'm concerned:
RI drivers >> IN drivers
Another problem is that the only traffic that occurs are on local main roads. The highways NEVER have any traffic. Does anyone else think this is a problem???
