Running Gas

Gases prices in Fort Wayne are more than 60 cents over the national average because of maintenance on a Exxon-Mobil refinery in Illinois. Being colorblind, I'm not sure whether Alabama is in a similar situation or not but I know I can always count on California to have high gas prices.
After I pumped a few gallons of unleaded gas with an octane rating of 87 at $4.25/gallon to Electra, I drove past the Sam's Club gas station which had gas at $3.99 but the roads leading to it were stuck in traffic. I remember growing up with gas prices between $1-$2 when Fugitive (Think "cops and robbers" or "Manhunt") was reasonable cheap to play. I've heard plenty of times that gas stations don't make much money on gas but for some reason every gas station has giant lit signs informing customers their gas prices. Maybe it's just marketing? And people go out of their way in order to save a few cents per gallon resulting in only a dollar or two in savings (Just think saving $0.10/gallon can save you two whole dollars if you pump 20 gallons); you would be better off just using a coupon that the last person that used the self-checkout line left behind. It's probably not worth driving a few miles out of the way to save a few cents or even letting your car run while waiting in line.
Speaking of running, it's National Running Day. Another randomly appointed day of observance... Today is National Gingerbread Day too! You never want to anger a runner though. When Apple said "Here's to the crazy ones", I'm pretty they were talking about runners. Everyone knows at least one crazy runner (I'm afraid to admit I know multiple):
"I'm going for a short run." Ran 8 miles.
"That was a slow run. Only 6 minute miles."
"What do you mean you don't know how many miles you ran in those shoes?"
Gets extremely irritable if they don't run for 24 hours
"I can't go _______, I have to run."
Receives running magazines and attends running conventions.
When asked what think about when they run: "I don't think about anything"
Very weird.
I guess I can't relate to runners besides enjoying nice cold beer after a race (though it races are quite early). And you know my thoughts on many of the races that are available now. When is National Sitting Day?
