Sex.

The other day, I was thinking about how most songs have only a few themes to them: Money, Drugs, Love, and Sex. Well, this certainly doesn't include the genre of Nerdcore or anything sang by Weird Al Yankovic or William Shatner. While I don't talk about many of those themes very often in this blog, I plan on to (maybe). Let's start off with sex.
Of all the species in this diverse world, the Bonobo is probably the most well known species for their sexual habits. Sex may play a larger role in their society than in us, humans, which is extremely hard to believe. They don't take in account of age or gender for their sexual acts; this is quite hard to imagine our society doing such things... Like humans, they use sexually acts in many situations: to show excitement, affection, anger, and even to solve conflict. Bonobos are peaceful; though they are endangered.
While Bonobos learn from a young age what sex is (since it is so prevalent), humans do not have the same pleasure, but it seems that the age when children learn about sex is decreasing. I grew up in a household that doesn't speak about sex; I never received "the talk" from my father. I guess I was never really curious about where babies came from or I just naturally knew what we going on with my incredible instincts (It's wasn't hard to see since I have a large number of younger cousin. I probably thought it was just "love" at the time though. I wasn't far off). Then I had the misfortune of learning all about STDs (including images) in health class in sixth (maybe seventh) grade; it was disturbing enough to scar the weak-minded for life. In a sexual-oriented world we live in today, it's a miracle how little it has impacted my life (well after conception, of course). I've heard some crazy and ridiculous stories parents had told their kids about why babies come from, including: spawning from the ground, the moon, a stork, birds and bees, and science.
