Smart Watches
So, the Apple Watch was released months ago. The craze didn't really ramp up the demand of smart watches for consumers. And starting at $350 for the cheapest Apple Watch, it's not really that surprising; that's half the price of a flagship phone. I only know one person that actually owns the watch and it was given as a gift.
Did the smart watch period end as fast as netbooks? I really hope not and it mostly likely haven't even really begun.
The smart watch market has been extremely disappointing in advancement just as battery life in phones have been. There isn't a good looking watch with essential features (heart rate) in the right price range. Not manufacturer is really giving consumers what they really want. Samsung is saving their best watch hardware for their own priority watch OS, while Motorola isn't providing the high features (and a circular display with a black area in the bottom). Just like phones, battery life is a deal breaker for some. And there aren't really any watches that fit women, which is a significant demographic...
When will smart watches be as thin as my Skagen...? That would be amazing! But that'll be at least a year away.
