So You Think You Can Dance?
That's a catchy title; there should be a dancing show called that... Last weekend, I realized once again that I could not dance, particularly to country music (unfortunately it was a country bar. Though, I don't mind country music at all). While I look extremely foolish on the dance floor with any music on, I couldn't even pretend to sing along with country songs since I don't know majority of popular country unlike other genres. But after the live band played at the bar, they immediately switched to:
I didn't know how to Wobble or how old the dance was. Then the bar played:
Then:
I had no clue how to do the Electric Slide... Way past my time. I think you can start to see the pattern... I love and hate these songs. Everyone loves to dance during these songs since they have pre-defined moves; but after the song, 50% of the people on the dance floor get off like the ground is turning into hot lava. I'm sure there are some people that only brave the dance floor when the song directs every move. I'm surprised the bar just didn't play these songs:
The Classic
Of course the chicken dance!
Of course the Macarena (As a child, I never listened to the lyrics... Probably for the best)
Honorable Mentions: Teach Me How to Dougie, The Hokey Pokey, The Loco-Motion, The Twist, Shout, You're A Jerk, Thriller, The Alley Cat
To never be played: Crank That
Did I miss anything?
Remember this when you're standing around while other people around you are dancing: "There is no way I will look as foolish/awkward as Matthew TW Huang so I might as will dance."
I am grateful that no videos have appeared of me dancing.
