Suits
You've probably heard it before: Everyone should have a suit that fits well.
I'm really confused when I watch pre-coverage of sporting events and the athletes are dressed in suits right before going into the locker room. Do these individuals wear these suits from the hotel to the locker room just in case the cameras may spot them? It's all about the presentation. Functionality? Not so much. Maybe it's to show off how much money they make?
I have always been confused by the notion that suits bring. Why do suits convey business or formality? As an engineer, I don't wear suits on a regularly basis. I find it a bit annoying having to unbutton the jacket before sitting down.
While suit shopping, I didn't know what differentiates an expensive suit from an average priced one especially since all the designs seem nearly identical. After casually pondering the difference between tuxedos and suits throughout my life, I recently discovered the main: the satin on the jacket lapel and the design on the pants. Once again, I'm confused what makes the satin more formal...
