Summer!

It's finally the day I've been waiting for all year! The longest day of sunshine of the year!!! OH happy day! And here in Fort Wayne, IN (my city, where I'm from), the sunset is nice and late, around 9:17PM. That's right, 9:17PM. I'm certain that all the people that live on the eastern side of their respective time zones are jealous. Summer is quite the opposite than winter. In the winter, you can go days without seeing the sun; where during the summer, I'm sure there are some people that actually never see a dark night sky for days at a time. I'm not one of those people because I'm not a quitter (Refer to Fortune Cookie).
I went for a run last night after ten expecting it to be cool and dark (dark especially many streets don't have streetlights). It was neither of those two characteristics at the start though. The light from the sunset still lingered and the heat remained with each passing stride. But what feels better than having a thick layer of sweat on your entire body, sweat dripping from your chin and earlobes, and knowing you can run faster than the average person so you probably will almost survive any bear attack as long as there are other people around? I can't think of many things that feel better than that, but I'll say tennis and bowling.
So it's time for me to enjoy this sunlight while it lasts and destroy someone in a friendly game of tennis! (Maybe pictures/results to be later? I need a tennis/life photographer!)
It was 1989, my thoughts were short, my hair was long... And I was just born?... Kid Rock really does it better than me.
P.S. I made sure that the image for this blog wasn't a ocean view since those don't exist in the Midwest. So enjoy the Lake view!
