Summer of New

Summer no longer means three months of relaxation and carefree living like children. Summer is even a change from other times of the year for us working folk though. It is when students sacrifice three months of vacation in order to gain experience and pretend to be a mature person, whether it's a job at a grocery market or an internship.
It has been almost a year since I started my job here but it seems like it was just yesterday. The photo above was last year with us not yet broken down by the system looking young and joyful. (When am I suppose to stop running on 3-4 hours of sleep? I still need to get my TinCap fitted!) Last summer's interns came and went with a blink of eye. With another blink, new interns and new hires are coming in for the summer. It's quite humorous how the similar this year seems to last, like it's deja vu. Exactly the same problem as I had, interns couldn't login into their computers due to the fact they weren't given their passwords (You would think they would learn). Complaining about training will continue for a week, then they will complain about not having enough work (seems to happen everywhere).
It's going to feel weird not being the "new blood" at the company anymore. But can I really say that since many of my coworkers have been with the company for longer than I have been born? Or the fact that one intern has more work more months at the company than myself? Either way, I'm not the freshest of the fresh. It's always interesting meeting new people and hearing their stories; it's something I really enjoy since no two people have the same story (usually). For example, I met an intern from Michigan State that knows my cousin. It was a long shot question if she knew him but somehow I knew she would say "yes". It's really is a small world after all:
It's a wonderful time of the year with a pleasant change of pace with new and fresh faces around. Let the Summer of fun start!
P.S. I can't get over how handsome I am in that photo!
