Tennis-Love

It was just five weeks ago Marion Bartoli dominated Sabine Lisicki to win the Women's Wimbledon Championship; now, she is a 28 year old retiree who felt that her body just couldn't take anymore after a thirteen professional career. You may have never heard her name before the Wimbledon title or just read her name for the first time here. She's come close to hitting the big stage by having her highest rank at 15 but she's probably most famous for her two-handed backhand and forehand (a style I've never seen in person except in children). And now, that Wimbledon title. Just remember that a few women tennis players have come back from retirement to play again (e.g. Martina Hingis, Kim Clijsters)
To put this into tennis prospective: Venus Williams has been playing for 19 years (9 single Gland Slams) but like her sister, Serena (18 years/16 single Grand Slams), on a limited schedule the past few years (avoiding injury, 13 Double Grand Slams together)."Pistol" Pete Sampras retired after 14 years (14 Grand Slams). My favorite player, Andre Agassi, returned servs like crazy for 20 years in the pros (8 Grand Slams). Undisputedly the best player of all time, Roger Federer, is going on 15 years with 17 Grand Slam titles (and hopefully more to come). It's just amazing how these great players of the past two decades have dominated their respective sport with their love and respect for the game.
Nothing but Love in Tennis.
