That's No Moon!

In this craziness of the Republican primary elections, I have been irritated by the ads and media coverage. I am not saying it is not important but there is only so much I can handle. In my opinion I have not seen a electable candidate from the GOP. But this will not be a post about my views on the primary.
I found one topic brought up by former House Speaker and potential Presidential candidate Newt Gingrich particularly interesting. That topic is potentially having a Moon colony by 2020 (That would be Gingrich's second term). While this is idea is pure fantasy and probably improbable, I really support ideas similar to this. This may bring the US to a new technological level, further proving our strength in the sciences. While it would bring benefits to the US, it would be advantageous for everyone in this world.
The concept of the building on the moon may be a poor one but having the media talk about space exploration is fantastic in my opinion. While Gingrich may be exaggerating the possibilities, like regular trips to Mars, he has people talking about it. That's just the important start of ramping up the excitement of space exploration again.
