The Day Has Arrived (Updated)

So today is the day I make my way back to the east for a week or so. While I am truly excited to see family and friends I haven't seen in a long time, I will miss Fort Wayne and my friends (and basically family) for the next week. You may think it is sad to see someone say they are going to miss people when they're only leaving for just over a week but that's how much they mean to me. Just look how happy the beautiful people are in the picture above!
I should probably go to sleep soon since I have a long drive today. I think I have packed everything I could possibly need for the next week including enough clothes for a month. But as life goes, I will forget to bring something.
Everyday is an adventure!
I will probably add to this post as the day goes. But if you want more up-to-the-minute updates, follow my twitter, @MatthewTWHuang (Link is above too!)
Electra, ready for the trip!

She got much dirtier after the 800 mile trip. It was quite the drive; the worst part was being alone for the entire trip but I got to talk to a few people (so it wasn't TOO bad). One thing that seems to happen is that cars like to travel in packs like huskies. Certain groups of cars/truck travel at the same speed for hours at a time. For example, a Chevy SUV followed me for about 3 hours of the trip; it was certainly sad to see him go.
There were multiple sections of I-80 that closed off a lane, causing multiple delays to my schedule. Since I was surprising my parents, I wanted to make sure I arrived at a reasonable hour (It would have been much better if I surprised them with Scott!). The worst thing about the closed lanes was that they looked closed off for no particular reason (like no work was being done). But that's life, right?
The state with the worst driver goes to...(Drumroll)... Connecticut! They don't seem to have grasped the concept of the passing lane. Drivers seem to be completely comfortable in that lane and are hesitant to leave. Most of the time, the right lane was actually the faster one... Ironically, I think Connecticut was the only state with the sign "Use right lane unless passing". After driving 800 miles, I would say that Connecticut also had the highway with the worst conditions. I thought RI was bad... I have been spoiled by the highways of Fort Wayne, smooth as silk.
But after a back-aching 13 hour drive, I surprised my parents! But sadly the home I used to truly call home is different. The steps in front of the house have changed, the smell was an unfamiliar scent, and even the Listerine wasn't the same!

It's good to be back though! #TheRIghtLife
