The Little Joys
I expected today to be an average Friday. But due to a few little things, it became more pleasant than I had expected. It started with a co-worker and friend asking me to join him at Pizza Hut for its pizza buffet lunch; food seems to be the path of least resistance to my heart.
When I checked my mail as I do every day after work, there was the usual spam full of marketing but there were also two other envelopes (one was thicker with cardboard paper). I opened the normal white envelope and it was my Google Wallet Card! I quickly activated the card on the Google Wallet site. After that, I opened the fancy thicker envelope and it was my Discover IT card! I signed up with a deal I saw on Slickdeals ($150 off $750 spent in the first three months). Free monthly FICO and 5% on a quarterly category are just a couple benefits that come with this card.
I had to activate the Discover card by calling a number. After having had terrible customer service experience recently with Bank of America and especially Dell, I expected the worst. Contrary to my expectations, I called, spoke to a customer representative, and activated my credit card in under a minute (53 seconds). I was amazed.
Shortly after, I received my Google Domains Beta Invite! I quickly took advantage and began the process to transferring this domain to Google from GoDaddy! And now it's official! MatthewTWHuang.com is now under Google Domains Beta. Another product in my life that is now part of the Google Universe!
What a day!
