The Naked Tree

It was a staple of my life in Cranston, RI. I wrote poems and stories about the Naked Tree for multiple assignments throughout my academic career. Obligatory analogies to life were made like how the tree grew higher even though people attempted to stop it or how something so slender can be so strong and within so much.

I passed by it every time I strolled to Walt's Roast Beef, Burger King, Spikes, CVS, or to grab a refreshing Del's Lemonade. It was comforting to see the tree standing and especially with leaves at the top branches during the warm months.
But in the morning, a storm passed by Cranston and damaged much of the area including downed power lines. It was devastating to see that the infamous Naked Tree had fallen down to the terrible weather.
