Things Engineers Like: Mondays
As you know, Monday is undoubtedly the best day of the week. Who doesn't enjoy going back to work to be productive after a couple of days of not working? The lucky ones, many of them engineers, get to work over the weekends. Mondays are also great because it's when questions like "How was weekend?" are asked; of course the response is usually the same every week, "It was too long." Then, you have the people who answer that question in tremendously detail. On the rest of the days of the week, you get the boring "Hey, how's it going?" passby. Half the time there will be no response and the other half responds with "Good"/"Same as always"/"Just another day in paradise" (This one may only be in my workplace). Students also get back to the classroom on Mondays; students here in Fort Wayne are preparing for the iStep, Indian's standardized test! Though I am against standardized testing that require preparation; it just doesn't make much sense.
So how can you ensure Monday is the best day of the week even though it doesn't need much help? Well, the first thing you count on is a blog post on this site! Though it is a daily blog. You could always come back to this specific post to watch me wish everyone a happy Monday. You could also wish everyone a "Happy Monday!" yourself and karma will naturally repay the favor. To fulfill 10 things, the desire to cook more often and have delicious steak at least once a week, I implemented "Steak Monday". It's just what it sounds like, I cook steak on the best day of the week; the cut of steak varies from week to week including, but limited to, prime rib, ribeye, New York Strip. I must say, this may be one of my most satisfying events of the week for me; so excellent that I've convinced others to join me in the tradition of "Steak Monday" in their own homes (didn't take much persuasion). It a great way to save money from going out to great a delectable steak.
Today was an especially great Monday since the White House responded to the petition against the illegality of unlocking phone by agreeing with the petition. And even Storm Saturn waited till tomorrow to hit my area so my Monday would still remain terrific. And some random knowledge on this beautiful Monday: People with adermatoglyphia do not have fingerprints. It is also possible to lose your fingerprints. It is just another reason we can rely on one biometric for security.
The only negative about Monday is that when it's over, it's Tuesday. Tuesday's are terrible since it's one day past marvelous Monday and one day closer to the most dreaded day of the week, Friday.
Dilbert could definitely use "Steak Monday" (and social plans...):
