This American Life

First of all, I would like to apologize for ruining one of the most sacred concepts in life: putting a face to a public radio personality. Yes, that is Ira Glass, the host and producer of This American Life on NPR from WBEZ Chicago (I cannot read that without putting it in Ira's voice); you probably weren't surprised because his face and build fits his voice very well (I thought he would be smaller). Once known as "Your Radio Playhouse", This American Life is a radio show filled with stories, mostly non-fiction but there are some fiction short stories.
If you love hearing interesting stories about a range of topics (from personal stories to controversial topics) like me, you'll have absolutely delightful time listening to any one of the hundreds of episodes since its creation in 1995. Some of my favorites include this and this (even though I've never been to camp). The majority of the shows, even from 1995, still are very relevant to this very day; reminds you that the fundamentals of life hasn't changed much. But listening to old episodes remind you of old new stories and the obsolete technology we rarely see anymore. Today, I listened to a story about condom use, or the lack of, in 1997 (that was 17 years ago...); that has changed drastically.
Other great radio story shows you may like: The Moth, Selected Shorts, and RadioLab (which I just started listening to, most scientific than the others) all of which you can hear on Stitcher on your phones. All these shows are great for roadtrips too!
