Twitching Luck

As I was reading about the death of RIM, Research In Motion, and the birth of BlackBerry, my right eye started to twitch (RIM to BBRY on the NASDAQ). Maybe the twitching was the result of the official announcement of the Z10 or the Q10 devices or the fact that the beautiful Alicia Keys is BlackBerry's new Global Creative Director. The Q10, do people want to sacrifice display space for a physical keyboard? If great software keyboards, I think not. The Z10 certainly looks like the a great phone but there is nothing particularly special about it. But for people that like simplicity like me, this phone looks great.
As for the BlackBerry 10 OS, it looks good but what do I know, I loved Windows Mobile 5.0 on my HTC Dash. The color scheme of the screenshot of BB10 has completely won me over. While there are tons of gestures, it'll only take time to get comfortable with them but I'm a big fan of them (similar to the Ubuntu off-screen slides). The camera looks great and the Time Shift feature looks useful. But navigation looks even worse than Apple Maps; where is Google Maps?!
But people are complaining about the lack of applications for it; it's not about the number but the quality as proven by Apple gaining strength with OSX compared to Windows. Apple created essential applications that were visually stunning and easy to use and pre-installed and packaged it with their Macs so the majority of the users didn't have to buy anymore applications like on the Windows platform. This simplified the experience for the basic user and created the customer base they currently have. As an Android user, I really only use about seven applications daily and they can certainly be improved on (But I do love Pulse). And BB10 looks like a work/social network oriented phone and the business enterprise is definitely the focal market.
But since my right has been twitching for a week or so, I knew it couldn't have been the BlackBerry news. So as with most people today, I went to the Internet! I search "Right eye twitching" and the first result was 8 causes of eye twitching which made perfect sense. Those eight causes being Stress, alcohol, tiredness, dry eyes, eye strain, nutritional imbalances, caffeine, allergies none of which I have (I think). So I continued to look at the other results, I found there are superstitions for the right eye twitching. I have never really been one to be superstitious which is the complete antithesis of my mother (Did you know it's bad luck to use chopsticks with your left hand? Or is that just rude?).
One link: "There are superstitions for right eye twitching and left eye twitching. For instance in China the chief superstition seems to be the twitching in the right eye would signify good luck, but the Chinese perceive the twitching in a left eye to be a bad omen. Superstitions are even
based on an anatomical break down; basically a twitch in the lower left would mean you can expect to cry soon while having a corresponding twitch in your right eye means that good fortune is heading your way. The champions when it comes to superstitions are the Indians, in Indian beliefs the twitching of the left eye is most definitely a good omen, and when your right eye is twitching it is considered to be unpromising for your future. The most frightening superstition is not known of where or how it developed but a twitching left eye means that there will be a death to a loved one, yet the right is believed that there will be a baby born in the near future."
Other websites general had similar statements and good thing I'm Chinese and not Indian! I'm not sure what to think about about the last superstition in the text above... But since I'm Chinese, my twitching is all good luck and I can feel it already! With the most important Chinese holiday of all coming soon (February 10th), it can only get better. And did I mention it's the Year of the Snake too?! I'm probably going to be the luckiest and most prosperous person in the world this year! As such, BlackBerry should send me a Z10 as soon as possible to take advantage of my luck this year!
