Twitter Lists
Ever wonder how someone on Twitter with over 50 followers actually gets content? There's a little known feature called "Lists" on Twitter where you can get tweets just from members on that particular list. I can't imagine someone being able to actually find interesting content by following over a thousand people (or even hundred); I follow less than a hundred (many of which are inactive) and find it difficult to comb through tweets. For me, Lists won't be a way of filtering my following content but to get more relevant content through them (without destroying my main feed).
I've been telling myself for years now that I should organize my lists. But I never got around to doing that. I usually am on mobile using Twitter so I wonder why I couldn't follow/subscribe to existing lists. After a quick Google search, you can only subscribe to lists on the desktop version... This saves me from making most of my own lists! Keep in mind, you can have your own private lists.
Twitter is rolling out a "Mute" feature which allows you to be passive aggressive and not have to unfollow someone.
So use Lists in Twitter. Subscribing to Lists (desktop only) makes it easy.
Twitter should really start making the navigation to Lists more prevalent (e.g. next to the Home/Discover/Activity menu items instead of hiding it in the settings/profile page).
