Voicemail
So it has hit major media that Pope Francis left a voicemail for nuns. Ever since his inauguration, he's been popular with his followers for being humble and in touch with the common people. He has acknowledge corruption in the Church and has established a seemingly less luxurious papacy. He's even taken selfie's with the younger generation. Pope Francis has created a sense of community that Benedict did not with his humility and humor. (Note that I am not a religious person myself.)
It's sad to see that a silly voicemail had made such an impact in the media. Yes, he makes fun of how nuns missed a call from the Pope; it says much about what we have thought of the papacy in the past. It's not that voicemail is even new technology. My mother even leaves me voicemails; she somehow consistently leaves a message lasting an average of 6 seconds. It's impressive.

Don't worry, I responded to her calls. You can never be too important to reply to your mother.
I'm thankful for touch screen phones as the number of butt dials have become nearly extinct. I still have a voicemail from a friend where he's just walking around a party just greeting people. What's worse than butt dials may be people that have not even setup their voicemail. But even more terrible are those people that purposely create a voicemail greeting to trick the caller in thinking they answered (Something like "Hello?... Hello?...... Just kidding, leave a message").
When's the last time you updated your voicemail greeting? Were you a ten year old in the middle of puberty? You may want to change that to reflect your current life.
I really wish all my voicemails were automatically transcribed (like Google Voice).
Text messages/Electronic Mail have nearly replaced voicemail in most cases anyways.
