Washington DC

Currently, I'm writing this post while sitting at the Lincoln Memorial facing the National Mall. I don't know how to describe what I am feeling right now. Overwhelmed. Majestic. Honored.
I've already had the opportunity to do all this DC tourist stuff a few times in the past but I'm doing this a bit differently this time. For one, I'm doing to alone. By doing this alone, it's a totally different perspective with no rush or waiting. I can take my time to absorb it all in.
Another is that I'm walking, or have walked, the entire National Mall. Yes, from the Capitol to the Lincoln Memorial. In the past I was part of a bus group or just rode in a car. While a bit tiring, it has been worth it. I've gotten a good feel of just how big the National Mall is and had multiple prospectives of the sights.
The most significant difference than the previous visits is that I'm doing it at night. It's stellar. I don't think any pictures can capture these beautiful displays of our nation's capital especially at night. There won't be any pictures that will give the viewer a feel of the grand size of the moments or the emotions that come out while viewing the veteran memorials (especially when you see "FREEDOM IS NOT FREE" or the walls).
Amazing. I could never get tired of this.
