Weekend Flop

On Friday, I forecasted it to be a great weekend in sports for me. Like meteorologists on the news, I was horrendously mistaken! Where do I even start? Let's start chronologically...
Friday night may have been the only distinctly positive moment in sports for me when the New York Yankees clinched their spot in Game 5 of the ALDS against the Baltimore Orioles (Such cool caps!).
Saturday was the start of the dreadful sports weekend. UConn looked promising with a 14-0 start against Temple, from Philadelphia, PA, for their Homecoming game. The sprint was all they had in their tank it seemed, letting Temple score 17 unanswered points including a field-goal in overtime.
After mourning the loss, I looked forward to the ALCS, Yankees against the Tigers. It is more interesting than the ALDS since Scott is a huge Detroit fan. You know that extremely negative sports fan that you always have at a party? Well Scott is probably that person but truly entertaining. The Yankees looked promising in the ninth inning with the amazing Raul Ibanez. But it was a devastating enduring loss in extra innings with Scott celebrating. It was a similar game today in Game 2 but without the ninth inning heroics. Down 0-2 in the series, it'll be a tough comeback.
I painfully watched the Colts game before Game 2. What can I say about the Colts? It was disappointing but everyone knows it's going to take some time to rebuild the organization. But a loss to the New York Jets is absolutely unpleasant. It's the Jets... But Andrew Luck is going to get back up and run the offense next week against the Cleveland Brown (who surprisingly won today).
And to the most significant news of the day: Indiana Bo has suffered their first defeat of the season:

The margin of the loss is higher than what it will end up to be because of the Green Bay Packers just started their game at the time of writing this. I was definitely let down by Reggie Bush, Michael Turner, and Vernon Davis but what can I do? Not much. Eli Manning, being my first round pick, definitely crushed my positive spirit.
But as stated perfectly by this Jimmie Johnson commercial, if losing didn't hurt, winning wouldn't feel so good. And for the past several weeks, I was on a winning high. I will only become stronger and better than before, as a result of these woeful losses.
Good news everybody! I'm going to Game 3 of the WNBA Finals Indiana Fever against the Minnesota Lynx! Go FEVER! (But I'll still root for Maya Moore though! Speaking of which UConn Basketball started on Friday night.) And as Barney Stinson says, When I'm sad I stop being sad and be awesome instead! But remember, sports was only a small part of my weekend; I had a great time celebrating the New Yorker's birthday and it seems the start of something amazing occurred last night!
