What A Day!
When I awoken yesterday, I wasn't feeling that good mentally/emotionally. With all my holiday shopping and regular responsibilities taken care of, I decided that the best thing to do would be cleaning my entire apartment, even vacuuming. It was really cathartic. Looking back on it, my mother seemed to used cleaning to de-stress as well; like mother like son? After the mass cleaning of Festivus Eve 2014, I have two bags of garbage and a bag of clothes to give away; you could call it a pre-Festivus miracle!
Then, I went to Subway and found myself ordering what I order 99% of the time when I'm there. To my surprise, I got a 6 inch meatball sub for only $2!
I was in the mood for giving and I have not had much time in the past few months due to work, so I went to the local Blood Center to donate. A half hour later, I was eating pretzels and drinking lemonade water while talking to a senior in high school that is going to Army basic training in June (and gave blood for the first time). I received yet another compliment when he thought I was 18 or 19 years old; good to know I've aged a year or two the past few years.
The day continued to get better and better. I got to talk to one of my best friends for a while. Then, I did some exercise which shouldn't have done due to giving blood just a couple hours before. It was definitely needed though.
Then, I made Steak Monday for the first time in months; delicious as usual.
After the day was basically complete, I was surprised with a bombardment of Festivus gifts! It was wonderful!
What started off as a below-average day became a great one.
Now, it's Festivus!
