Wiser Journey

One of chapters to manhood is growing hair, body and facial. And for some unfortunate man, it also means losing hair on the head. Coming from Chinese ancestors, I don't grow much facial grow; other men of different ethnicity can grow what I grow in a month, in a single day. It's bizarre that a lengthy beard can represent laziness and grunginess, but it can also allude age and wisdom as like with Confucius.
I'm going for the enlightened wise man look:

I think I'm coming close; I'm only about three years off (-/+5 years). At the youthful age of 23, this is the lengthiest I've let my facial hair grow (The clean shaven look better suits my personality). But it isn't very impressive since as with the hair on my head, I get annoyed of it after a certain length. I keep thinking that I have piece of food on my lip but it's actually my mustache. I'm positive that I'm not the only person to do: slightly pulling on the beard when pondering or thinking. It's extremely odd when I find some blonde (maybe red, colorblindness) hair on my chin.
Soon I'm going to be from Lin to Harden:
