World Population
There are over 7 billion people in this world. We all know this but I never considered the world population as a whole while learning about history. So, I took to the World Population Wikipedia page. And I was stunned.

The population growth in the past century is remarkable and is the result of modern medicine and technological advances. There are more people in the United States present-day than there were in the entire world in the year 1000. There are more people on Facebook now than the world population in 1800.
There are so many stories and content that one can consume in this world. There is so much more diversity than ever before. With more people, a increased number of people will have others that share common traits/experiences/interests to communicate with; this has been made much easier with technological advances such as the Internet. While the number of people have increased, communities for nearly everything you can possibly think of exists; this was much much more difficult before the use of convenient travel and the Internet. Communities provide support, motivation, discussion, and the feeling of being part of something much bigger than yourself; they also provide knowledge to those not familiar. Tolerance is critical in a growing world population and will make this a much better place to live in.
