Year of the Snake

Today is Chinese New Year's Eve! So sadly, this will be another year I won't be with my family to create fond memories. Last year, I wrote about all the traditions and happenings of Chinese New Year that I will miss once again. I'm sure there is a nostalgic factor involved about missing the celebration but this is the time of the year I most wish I was with my family especially with my mother since it is so significant to her. Just thinking about the Chinese New Year's memories bring back the smells, sights, and, of course, tastes into my mind.
But life is too short to be too somber for too long. For those who don't know, the upcoming year is the Year of the Snake. Being an Earth Snake myself, I'm especially looking forward to a year filled with happiness and prosperity. It also means that my Jordan year interconnects with my Zodiac year. And with my lucky necklace which hasn't come off in years, nothing is going to stop me from having an amazing year!

Happy Chinese New Year to you! Welcome the Year of the Snake with the Dragon Dance, tons of the firecrackers, and delicious food! Oh yeah, and the lucky red envelopes!
