Young Male Car Insurance
It's June. It's the month that I have to pay for my car insurance. But unlike most people, I was anxious to receive my bill; anxious in a positive sense! Ever since I fled my parents' car insurance (okay, I was ousted), I've had to suffer high costs of car insurance of being a young male adult. It was unbelievable how much more young males pay more than any other demographic.
After figuring out how much coverage I needed (Bodily Injury & Property Damage Liability (100/300/100)/Comprehensive/Collision. No rental reimbursement or roadside assistance for me), I did what any reasonable shopper would do and went online to get a quote from all the major insurance companies. Fortunately, I searched Liberty Mutual first because they set the bar high in an extremely expensive way. But after spending consecutive "15 minutes to save on my car insurance", I ended up with Progressive. While Esurance were similar in price, I went with Flo's company due to the reviews of service. Luckily, I haven't have to use their services yet as a customer.
But back to why I have been excited to receive my car insurance bill. My bill has been steadily going down hill from over $1300/year to under $800/year over the past 3 years. Yeah, you read it right, it was over $1300 per year! Ridiculous for a clean driving record like mine. And after three years of contiguous coverage with Progressive, I will be a Platinum member! I got to reach the ultimate Crown status! It'll only take 17 more years too. What a great marketing scheme.
But the next I renew my car insurance, I'll be over the magic age of 25. I can't wait to see that dramatic drop in car insurance cost! I'll finally be out of the under 25 years old demographic that the car insurance love so much. Who would have expected car insurance bills to be so exhilarating?! If car insurance doesn't spark your enthusiasm, I'm not sure what will!
How much are you paying in car insurance?
