Clothes
As you were probably aware, this past weekend was Memorial Day Weekend. This weekend usually includes remembering those who have served in the military, visiting friends and family, dining out (e.g. barbecues), watching movies (this year included Arrested Development), and shopping; all of which I did in some fashion. It was a delightful three-day weekend spent with wonderful friends.
On Saturday, the doppelgänger, the New Yorker, and I went to the Lighthouse Premium Outlets in Michigan City, Indiana (awkward...). I discovered Premium Outlets (specifically the one in Wrentham) in high school and it has changed the way I looked at clothing sales forever. If you have never heard of them, they are just large centers of well-known brand retail stores, many of which are factory stores so their items may be highly discounted compared to other retail shops (If you have an AAA membership, you can also get a coupon book. If not, you can register online). Since then, I've built up quite the inventory of clothing including the copious amounts of UConn apparel; I'm extremely picky about my clothing so I take advantage of the rare opportunities when I like an item that's decently priced.

Even after donating two large garbage bags full of clothes, I'm still left with a loaded closet and no clothing hangers to spare. I've been trying to reduce the amount of stuff I have but it's hard to let go of things because of the memories and the convenience of having it; I swear I've only kept stuff that I would actually wear and fit. And as you can see from the picture above, I have a hot mess in my closet and I even tried using the "As Seen On TV Wonder Hanger" to save space. And this picture only tells a small portion of the story, the other side of the closet is too embarrassing to show (includes all my athletic clothing, suits, and pants) and there's clothes, hats, and shoes all over my room (including bags of recently purchased/unworn items). Maybe I should come up with reasons to wear my lesser but more formal stuff.
For a guy that has no sense of style or many colors, I sure do have plenty of options to choose from. I really have to stop shopping for clothes; I did a good job from the months of January to April of this year, basically spending no money on clothing. I probably shouldn't purchase any penny loafers any time soon. Tip: Get a steamer for clothes. It's much easier than ironing. I have the Jiffy J-2000 Steamer and it's great!
The only thing hindering me from going months upon months without doing laundry is the limited supply of boxers and socks... Maybe I should... No....
Compared to my doppelgänger, I have don't have much clothing at all. How do you stack up? Is their an organizing fiend that wants to volunteer to help with my closet (maybe color coordinate)? I will take any advice too or maybe help someone else with the same problem as me.
